Puerto Rico needs a Robin Hood

So politics in Puerto Rico never end. During election period and months before (lots of months before) we, the citizens, can appreciate the slimy campaign skills of the "honorable men and women" that are our options to rule the country and supposedly "speak our voice" for we are in a democratic country (or so they say). Finally, at the end of the period, "a hero is chosen" and empowered by the skills that his party color gives him, he gladly takes the seat( and the house, and the escorts, and the titles, and the ridiculously high salary, etc.). And the people that vote for him see him as a Robin Hood, an extraordinary man that will not eat, sleep or breath until all the corruption and unfair laws of the land have been abolished. But when he is finally "crowned" and his rule is official, his first proclamation shakes to the core the peasants and merchants that gave him his now untouchable place, "Hear ye, hear ye, the sheriff of Borinken has denounced that new taxes shall be applied to the land in order to fix the land's economical situation" Now, the hero becomes a villain, and neighboring kingdoms like the PPD, use this information to take advantage and keep the islanders unhappy with their new ruler for the next four years. Everybody whines, screams, shouts, criticizes and complains, some even weep in silence, for their Robin Hood, has now become the Sheriff of Nottingham and it will be them, the islanders who will keep suffering the worst of political incompetence and selfish thinking. This land still waits for their "Richard the Lion Heart" to return and save what is left of its economy so tha we can once again fill our carts gas tanks with 20.00 dollars .

If you can't actually visualize this, do not worry, if you wait 4 years and you come to visit the island, you will be able to see it in action all over again, because here in Puerto Rico, we are stuck in a political loophole that repeats itself everytime a political term ends and supposedly, a "new" one starts.

With all this new taxes and situations inside the royal court of politicians, we really are going to need a real Robin Hood to steal from "the rich" and give to "the working class" and "the poor", tights and all.
